In september 2006 was released Ensemble Fleur de Lys' first autoproduced CD entitled Le retour aux sources. The album contains eight jazz arrangements of classical québécois popular songs : Le grand cerf-volant, J'ai planté un chêne (Gilles Vigneault), Le bon gars et La maison est ouverte (Richard Desjardins), Intouchable et Immortel (Daniel Bélanger), Sang d'encre (Jean Leloup), Le picbois (Pierre Bertrand de Beau Dommage) and Le train du nord (Félix Leclerc).

What the critics said :

One of the best jazz recording of 2006 (Radio-Canada, L'heure de pointe, december 19th 2006)

« There is an accomplishment there. A tradiotionnal jazz merging different styles like bossa nova for le grand cerf-volant » Denis Lapierre (Radio-Canada, L'heure de pointe, October 10 th 2006)

« L'Ensemble Fleur de Lys (Le Retour aux Sources) We have to thank Sylvain Picard and his octet Fleur de Lys ensemble for the album « Le Retour aux Sources ». Those tasty jazz arrangements of our own brightest singer-songrwriters is a pleasure to savor as much for the ears as for the soul. The genial arrangements offer the musicians a great vehicule for a high caliber improvisation. A welcome boldness that offers jazzophils of all generations a ticket for a beautiful trip through time. I wish that the conceptors of this little gem will receive lots of prizes, awards and recognition. When will they receive honnors outside our fontiers!? » Denis Corriveau (CFOU-FM 89,1, Jazz sans frontière, November 9th 2006)
